About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Customer Sales and Product Support Representative to join our team at Wisconsin Building Supply. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with new and existing customer sales, providing product support to outside sales representatives, and delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding product selection, placement of orders, prices, quotations, complaints, and scheduling of deliveries and installations.
  • Initiate telephone calls to customers to generate sales and build relationships.
  • Obtain orders from customers and sales representatives; enter work order, credit return, return authorization, pick ticket, and service request; file paperwork accordingly.
  • Coordinate purchase and delivery of special products, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment of customer needs.
  • Manage schedules for projects by coordinating with outside sales, jobsites, and assigned customers, ensuring seamless execution and communication.
  • Maintain stock levels on the sales floor and in the stockroom, adhering to inventory control standards.
  • Research credits, returns, and late payments as needed, resolving any issues promptly.
  • Check on back orders and resolve any outstanding issues, solving billing problems and compiling data for closing.
  • Handle special orders and advanced pricing, assisting with pricing and special price lists.
  • Develop and grow professional relationships with customers, fostering loyalty and retention.
  • Resolve jobsite issues and customer problems, providing solutions and support.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in the building material industry, with basic knowledge of product and application.
  • 1-3 years of inside sales experience preferred.
Competencies and Skills
  • Ability to operate computer, calculator, and cash register software.
  • Knowledge of building supplies, applications, related equipment, and/or construction industry principles.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer relations skills, with strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with inventory and inventory control processes.
  • Able to walk throughout yards, plants, and offices.
Work Environment and Travel Requirements

This role requires approximately 50% travel, necessitating reliable transportation and the ability to drive.

$45,000 - $60,000 per year, based on location and experience, offers an attractive compensation package that aligns with industry standards.
