Geriatric Nutrition Specialist

About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Geriatric Nutrition Specialist to join our interdisciplinary team. This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires expertise in medical nutritional therapy, particularly for common chronic diseases seen in the geriatric population.
Key Responsibilities- Assessing the nutritional status of participants and planning appropriate nutrition interventions
- Communicating with the Interdisciplinary Team to ensure nutritional needs are met
- Providing education and counseling to participants and their caregivers on dietary issues
- Conducting initial assessments and periodic reassessments
- Participating in the development of the plan of care and coordinating 24-hour care delivery
- Education: Registered Dietitian with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college with major studies in food, nutrition, or dietetics
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year working with the elderly population required; minimum of 2 years clinical nutrition experience preferred
- Licensure/Certifications: Serve Safe Certified preferred
- Skills and Knowledge:
- A 'people first' approach in all communication and interactions
- Understanding of current concepts and best-practices of nutritional services for the elderly
- Commitment to quality care and services to a frail client population
- Knowledge of and comfort working in the managed care environment
- Commitment to providing services that exceed expectations and adaptability to changing demands
The estimated salary for this role is $65,000 - $85,000 annually, depending on experience. BoldAge PACE offers a robust benefits package, including medical, dental, paid time off, 401K, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, flexible spending account, and an employee assistance program.
