Nurse Anesthesia Adjunct Professor Opportunity at VCU

The Department of Nurse Anesthesia at VCU is recruiting for a pool of part-time adjunct teaching positions. This pool will be utilized on an as-needed basis.
Job ResponsibilitiesWe are seeking a highly qualified nurse anesthesia professional to join our faculty team. As an adjunct professor, you will coordinate assigned courses in the Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice (DNAP) program, teach assigned areas of content, and if assigned, lead simulation-based laboratory sessions.
- Coordinate courses in accordance with teaching workload policies of the College of Health Professions
- Teach areas of content in courses throughout the DNAP curriculum, consistent with department needs
- Lead simulation-based laboratory sessions, if assigned
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- A graduate degree from a nurse anesthesia program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA)
- Two years of experience as a CRNA
- Experience or potential to effectively educate and mentor graduate students from under-represented minority and/or historically marginalized communities
- Demonstrated experience or commitment to fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment
- Experience in promoting racial equity, inclusivity, and diversity in the learning and working environment
- A valid state nursing license to practice as an RN and CRNA in any state and eligibility for licensure in Virginia
- Certification or recertification as a CRNA by the NBCRNA
- If assigned as a lead instructor, residence within commuting distance of one of the four DNAP program sites and availability for in-person duties
