Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at the State of Oklahoma. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and challenging environment, providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the well-being of our community.

About the Role

This position involves performing technical direct and indirect nursing care in a clinic, hospital, institution, or home setting for individuals under the supervision or direction of a registered nurse, licensed physician, or dentist. The successful candidate will have the ability to exercise sound judgment, follow detailed oral or written instructions, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform nursing procedures or specialized functions in accordance with knowledge, skills, and licensure
- Participate in the evaluation of responses to interventions
- Teach basic nursing skills and related principles, delegating tasks such as taking temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure, giving enemas, douches, and sitz baths, collecting specimens, and measuring intake and output
- Assist in assessing, reporting, and recording health status of patients, families, and groups in a variety of settings
- Participate in developing and implementing appropriate aspects of a plan of care
- Administer medications as ordered, serving as Charge Nurse on a unit and supervising staff performing medication administration and patient care

Requirements

- Possession of a valid permanent Oklahoma license as a licensed practical nurse as approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing or, Licensed Practical Nurse License recognized by the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)
- One year of practical nursing experience or Licensed Practical Nurse License recognized by the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC) plus one year of practical nursing experience
