About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Sales Associate Trainee to join our Seconds and Surplus team at E.C. Barton & Company. As a Sales Associate Trainee, you will play a critical role in providing outstanding customer service and product knowledge to our clients.

  • Assist customers in selecting merchandise by asking detailed questions and listening carefully to their responses
  • Exhibit a high level of commitment to customer satisfaction
  • Resolve or escalate customer issues/complaints

  • Demonstrate flexibility and ability to adapt to the changing needs of our business
  • Be a team player and contribute to building a positive environment
  • Operate point of sale system
  • Maintain store appearance to provide an enjoyable and safe shopping experience

Qualifications
  • Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Language Skills: Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
