Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to serve as the HIV Epidemiology and Surveillance Group Manager. This is a critical role that requires strong leadership and management skills, as well as expertise in HIV/AIDS surveillance and epidemiology. The successful candidate will oversee the daily operations of the group, including establishing goals and objectives, developing and evaluating budget requests, and coordinating and evaluating program activities.

Key Responsibilities:
Manage all HIV Epidemiology and Surveillance Group activities, with a focus on HIV surveillance system design, development, integration, and implementation.
Oversee the management of all HIV surveillance databases, including data entry, data management, security and confidentiality, data quality, and system evaluation.
Directly supervise group staff and provide direction to CDC advisors or students/interns assigned.
Develop and evaluate budget requests, and oversee the group operating budget.
Serve as a statewide expert on HIV surveillance procedures and techniques, and represent the program at meetings, hearings, conferences, workgroups, and committees.

Requirements:
Master's degree in a related field, such as public health, epidemiology, or a related field.
At least 5 years of experience in HIV/AIDS surveillance and epidemiology, with a focus on program management and leadership.
Strong knowledge of disease and/or injury surveillance, public health principles, and epidemiologic methods.
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse personnel.
Ability to plan, conduct, and analyze studies related to TB/HIV/AIDS/STD surveillance, epidemiology, and program evaluation.

Working Conditions:
This is a full-time position, with a standard work schedule of 40 hours per week.
The position requires frequent travel to regional and local health departments, as well as other sites, to integrate and evaluate surveillance functions and provide technical assistance.
The position also requires occasional work outside of regular business hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
