Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Audit Professional to join our team at Heard McElroy and Vestal. As a key member of our audit team, you will be responsible for leading audits from planning to completion, ensuring timely and accurate status reports, and completing work paper reviews.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships
  • Direct fieldwork on assigned engagements
  • Assume responsibility for timely and accurate status reports
  • Complete work paper reviews, including self-review
  • Monitor completion of assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner
  • Apply technical knowledge to assess risk and evaluate clients internal control structure and accounting procedures
  • Stay current on new accounting pronouncements/standards
  • Perform accounting research to solve issues that arise during the course of audit or compliance engagements
  • Meet client deadlines for audit fieldwork and report issuance
  • Prepare workpapers, write audit reports, management letters and other client deliverables
  • Maintain knowledge of accounting and audit requirements
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external requirements
  • Assist in training and developing staff

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting with a strong academic track record
  • Minimum 4 years of public accounting audit experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
  • Working knowledge of office equipment, computer hardware and peripheral devices
  • Proficient with computer audit applications and technology
  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Statements on Auditing Standards (SAS), and audit procedures
