Senior Accountant - General Ledger

A leading health services organization in Washington is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join their team in the Greater Seattle area. As a key member of the Finance team, you will be responsible for supporting a wide range of financial functions, including transactional processing, general ledger account reconciliation, monthly journal entry preparation, and annual audit support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform and review complex month-end closing activities to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Record cash transactions and prepare bank reconciliations to maintain financial integrity.
  • Analyze and reconcile complex Balance Sheet accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Process fixed asset acquisitions and disposals to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare month-end financial reporting packages for various entities to provide timely and accurate financial information.
  • Assist with the development of various accounting processes in the area of responsibility to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to existing work processes and procedures affecting month and quarter-end financial close to enhance financial reporting and compliance.
  • Prepare annual personal property tax return to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as a point-of-contact and resource for auditors, providing audit schedules, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation to ensure a smooth audit process.
  • Effectively produce ad-hoc reporting and analysis to support business operational, financial, and strategic decisions.
  • Participate in other projects and assignments as needed to support the goals of the department.
Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of Accounting experience with a strong background in General Ledgers.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Strong knowledge of Internal Controls over Financial Reporting and experience with Consolidations.
  • Working knowledge of ERP (D365 or similar) software and Microsoft Excel proficiency.
  • Great interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills (written and verbal), and strong attention to detail.
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Desired Skills:
  • CPA and/or CMA certification.
  • Experience in a Manufacturing environment.
  • Public company experience.
  • Experience with SAP Concur.
