Labor and Delivery Resource Nurse

Job SummaryThe Labor and Delivery Resource Nurse will provide support to new graduate nurses and/or nurses transitioning to a new specialty, ensuring high-quality patient-centered care. This role involves mentoring, guiding, and providing education on hospital standards of nursing practice, policies, and procedures.
Responsibilities- Supports multiple units in implementing nursing care plans by performing direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of licensed nurses.
- Obtains and records patient information, including vital signs, height and weight, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, blood glucose levels, intake and output, and calorie counts.
- Documents observations, interactions, patient responses to performed activities, and physical or behavioral changes at time of occurrence.
- Assists with mobility, provides non-medicated support care, and performs non-medicated support tasks.
- Ensures accuracy of specimen collection, retrieves medication from pharmacy or storage room, and delivers to licensed staff member as instructed.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required; Master's Degree in Nursing preferred.
- 2+ years' experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) required.
- Licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license.
