Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform avionics inspections, installations, and pre and post installation checkouts on composite and metallic flight hardware.
  • Operate or support crane lifts, scissor and boom lifts, and forklifts.
  • Understand, follow, and complete work instructions, and contribute to safety, quality, process, and work instruction continuous improvement.
  • Adhesive bonding, surface preparation, fixturing of large composite structures.
  • Check completed products for conformance to specifications and defects.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in aerospace manufacturing, integration, or other relevant field.
  • Expertise in aerospace avionic installation and testing, and specific equipment to perform require tasking.
  • Ability to work respectfully and cooperatively with diverse teams in a dynamic environment displaying a strong work ethic with close attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, and test procedures.
  • Basic computer skills such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to climb ladders/stairs and work in small restricted areas.
  • Perform repetitive work including lifting of heavy items, >50lbs.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Strong desire to understand, and continuously improve production processes.
  • Understanding of equipment maintenance and diagnostic principles and failure root cause and corrective action (RCCA).
  • 5S and Lean Experience beneficial.
  • Previous or currently ordinance handler certified.
  • Rigging and Crane operator certification.
  • Pneumatic Power Feed Drilling experience.
  • Proven success as a 'hands-on' technical leader.
  • Industry certification, trade school training, and/or degree in a related field.
  • Experience in handling/moving large aerospace components.
  • ATF Certification for handling and/or installing explosives.
  • Experience working on payloads, fairings, capsules.
