Research Scientist

Southern Company Services is seeking a highly skilled Research Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Advanced Nuclear Program, you will play a critical role in the development, demonstration, and deployment of Generation IV nuclear reactor technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate projects related to the development and demonstration of Generation IV nuclear reactor technologies.
- Support the execution of programmatic activities and drive projects to completion.
- Collaborate with Reactor Designers, National Labs, Universities, DOE, and Industry to advance our research goals.
- Develop and manage work scope definition across multiple organizations.
- Influence policy makers and engage with regulators to advance our research agenda.
Requirements:
- BS degree in an engineering or science related discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in the execution of nuclear deployments or first-of-a-kind projects.
- Strong investigative skills and ability to produce well-written technical reports and analysis.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to clearly communicate and present technical information to clients, supervisor, and peers.
