Lead Infection Prevention Specialist

Accountability includes infection surveillance and accreditation readiness, as well as working with Epidemiology leadership to define and execute long-term strategic plans.

The director serves as a resource to the infection control staff and for staff throughout the campuses and practice sites within the licenses of the local health systems of MaineHealth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee infection control services and personnel
  • Develop and implement infection control policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with Epidemiology leadership to define strategic plans
  • Provide resource support to infection control staff and other staff members

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a healthcare field
  • Licensed in a clinical field
  • Certification in Infection Control
  • Five years of progressively more responsible management experience in a healthcare setting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Patient care evaluation skills
  • High level of analytical ability
