Histology Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Histology Technician to join our team at the Detroit Medical Center. Located in Hamtramck, Michigan, this position offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment.

As a Histology Technician, you will be responsible for preparing and processing tissue specimens for microscopic examination. This will involve receiving and logging specimens, performing histological procedures such as embedding, sectioning, and staining, and assisting pathologists with gross dissection and preparation of slides.

You will also be responsible for operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, including quality control and preventive maintenance, and participating in training and development of new procedures and research projects.

• High school diploma plus two years of histotechnology training or an associate's degree in science with one year of histotechnology experience
• Registration as a Histotechnologist (HTL), Histotechnician (HT), or registry eligibility through the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP)
