Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Funding Specialist to join our development team at DISCOVERY Children's Museum. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for researching and applying for grant funding from foundations, corporations, and government sources. Your excellent written and verbal communication skills, combined with your knowledge of budgeting and financial principles, make you an ideal candidate for this role.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree (master's preferred) and 1–3 years of experience in grant writing, fund development, or project management. You will work closely with teams across the Museum to ensure successful funding applications and reporting, helping sustain and grow our educational programs. Your strong organizational skills and attention to detail will enable you to manage a grant calendar and ensure deadlines are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Research and apply for grant funding from foundations, corporations, and government sources.
  • Gather supporting documents for applications, including budgets and project timelines.
  • Coordinate with program and finance teams to prepare budgets and outcome data.
  • Manage a grant calendar and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Maintain accurate records in grant management systems.
  • Assist with grant-related meetings, notes, and follow-up tasks.
