Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Prep Cook to join our team at Kokonut Island Grill LLC. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a crucial role in preparing delicious Hawaiian plate lunches.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement prep lists to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of duties
  • Organize and label ingredients to maintain a well-stocked and accessible inventory
  • Measure and prepare ingredients for cooking, adhering to recipe guidelines
  • Assist with basic cooking tasks such as sauce reduction and parboiling
  • Prepare simple dishes like salads and entrees
  • Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen through washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and waste disposal
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of food and other items
  • Adhere to nutrition and sanitation guidelines
  • Perform additional kitchen duties as assigned by management

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a prep cook or similar role
  • Knowledge of health and safety protocols in a kitchen setting
  • Dexterity to operate cutting tools and kitchen equipment safely and effectively
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Patient and positive attitude in high-pressure situations
  • Strong physical condition and endurance
  • Valid Food Handlers Permit or willingness to obtain one
  • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training an asset

Compensation:

$10.00 - $12.00 per hour
