Job Summary

Work Now Staffing is seeking a skilled Fabrication Supervisor to oversee the fabrication process in our Bedford Park client's facility. The ideal candidate will have prior experience managing metal fabrication processes, including laser cutting, press brake bending, and welding.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and manage the flow of parts and materials from request through the entire fabrication process.
  • Lead, supervise, and monitor safety, quality, and efficiency in the Fab department.
  • Maintain a strong presence on the Fab floor to confirm employees are working on assigned tasks and support supply or other requests as needed.
  • Schedule laser and fabrication to meet production needs.
  • Post the fabrication schedule daily.
  • Discuss supplies needed with each Fab employee and ensure requests are made to the stockroom in advance of need.
  • Provide planning, status, and schedule updates at periodic fabrication meetings.
  • Provide supplies, prints, and direction to fab personnel.
  • Request fabrication drawing updates as needed.
  • Supervise laser operation and sustainment, including nozzle alignment, nesting, cleaning the laser, and setting up the laser for unknown materials.
  • Coordinate make parts deliveries between buildings.
  • Monitor parts inventory levels in both buildings.
  • Coordinate monthly inventory in both buildings for make parts.

Requirements
  • Ability to manage, organize, and operate a small machine shop processing 100+ small batch assembly production weekly.
  • Ability to supervise and direct others.
  • Excellent punctuality and attendance.
  • Read blueprints and drawings.
  • Prior experience managing metal fabrication processes.
  • Prior experience managing fabrication in a job shop type environment.
  • Proficient in using measurement tools and equipment.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance.
