About the Role

The Providence Athletic Trainer On-Call provides critical support to our sports medicine team, ensuring the highest level of care for our athletes. As an on-call athletic trainer, you will be responsible for providing immediate assessment, evaluation, and treatment of injuries, as well as coordinating activities to prevent injuries and promote overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide on-call support to the sports medicine team, responding to emergencies and injuries as needed.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of injuries, developing effective treatment plans to promote recovery and return to play.
  • Collaborate with coaches, trainers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care and communication.
  • Develop and implement injury prevention programs, promoting a culture of safety and wellness within the athletic department.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in athletic training, applying this knowledge to improve patient outcomes and enhance the overall athletic experience.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related field or equivalent experience.
  • Current Oregon Athletic Trainer License.
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association certification.
  • BOC (Board of Certification of athletic trainer's membership).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years of experience working in a school or college environment as an athletic trainer.
