Patient Care Assistant

The Patient Care Assistant provides personal care and related services to patients under the direction of a doctor, nurse, and/or medical professional. This role requires a high level of compassion, empathy, and communication skills to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist patients with personal hygiene needs, including bathing, skin care, grooming, dressing, oral hygiene, and toileting.
Monitor vital signs and report any deviations from normal values to a medical professional.
Implement progressive mobility guidelines and turn/position bed-bound patients as needed.
Provide nutritious meals to patients as directed and assist with ambulation/transfers.
Assist patients with certain treatments and/or medications that are self-administered, ordered by a physician, approved and supervised by a nurse, and allowed by state law.
Requirements:
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
At least one (1) year of successful work experience preferred.
National Certified Patient Care Technician (NCPCT) certification preferred and may be required per state/contract.
