Medical Assistant/Medical Scribe Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant with Scribe experience to join our team at Plaza OB/GYN. This role is a vital part of our clinical team, responsible for assisting physicians with exams and operating their EMR system.

Job Responsibilities

Primary Duties:

  • Preparation of medical record documentation/charts for physician review.
  • Accompanying physicians during patient visits to assist with transcription and documentation using electronic medical records.
  • Providing support with procedures and exams as needed.
  • Ensuring exam rooms are well-stocked and clean.
  • Maintaining accurate patient histories, physical exams, and health information in patient charts.
  • Preparing documentation for physician review and approval.
  • Reviewing lab results and screening tests.
  • Compliance with HIPAA regulations and facility policies.
  • Performing other clerical duties to enhance provider productivity and clinic workflow as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Processing prescriptions.
  • Responding to patient calls.
  • Issuing orders for labs, surgeries, and imaging as required.
  • Collaborating with other office departments as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Experience:

  • Strong administrative writing skills.
  • Effective medical assisting skills.
  • Organizational and record-keeping abilities.
  • Professionalism, confidentiality, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient typing and verbal communication skills.

Educational Requirements:

  • Medical Assisting certification.
  • Bachelor's degree with a nursing career track preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy an asset.
  • Skilled in operating various medical record software.
  • A minimum of 60 words per minute typing speed preferred.

Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
