Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Physical Therapist II to join our team at Houston Methodist. As a Physical Therapist II, you will be responsible for evaluating and developing the therapy plan of care for a broad range of diagnoses and acuities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients to identify their level of function and determine the treatment plan.
  • Develop and implement the physical therapy treatment plan, providing service to complex patient populations.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to modify the patient's treatment plan, progress, and discharge planning for achievement of identified patient specific goals.
  • Provide education to patients, patient's family members, and/or caregivers, based on learning needs.
  • Consistently evaluate the patient's comprehension and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
  • Balance and adjust as needed the caseload for the assigned team members to result in optimum patient care and outcome.
Requirements
  • Graduate of education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s) indicated below in the Certifications, Licenses and Registrations section.
  • Two years of experience as a Physical Therapist; or completion of HM or comparable Physical Therapy Residency program.
  • BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA)
  • PT - Physical Therapist - State Licensure - with the Texas Board of Examiners. Compact license acceptable according to current ECPTOTE requirements within 90 days
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrates the skills and competencies necessary to safely perform the assigned job, determined through on-going skills, competency assessments, and performance evaluations.
  • Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language necessary to perform the essential functions of this job, especially with regard to activities impacting patient or employee safety or security.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, family members and co-workers in a manner consistent with a customer service focus and application of positive language principles.
