Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Peer Support Specialist to join our Crisis Services team. As a key member of our team, you will provide vital support and guidance to individuals in crisis, helping them navigate their recovery journey.

About the Role

This is a contingent position working in our DWIHN Crisis Care Center. You will work collaboratively with clinical teams, families, and community partners to ensure seamless care coordination and empower individuals to achieve their goals.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide peer support services, direct interventions, and teach recovery and life skills using evidence-based tools.
  • Engage individuals in a recovery partnership, assess their needs, and develop personalized plans to promote hope, personal responsibility, and self-advocacy.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Assist in developing natural supports, community living, and cultivating connectedness for individuals.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent;
  • One year of experience working with individuals with emotional impairments and/or seeking recovery treatment;
  • A valid State of Michigan Driver's License with a safe driving record; and
  • The ability to obtain Peer Support Specialist certification within 18 months of hire.
Work Environment

This is a 24/7 unit, and you will be required to work a 12-hour schedule. A flexible schedule is necessary due to the dynamic nature of crisis services.

Compensation

This role offers an estimated annual salary of $43,000-$55,000 based on experience, location, and industry standards.
