ResourceTek is seeking a highly skilled Materials Scientist to join our team. As a key member of our product development team, you will be responsible for leading the development of advanced high-strength steel (AHSS) and API pipe & tube steel grades. Your expertise in materials science and engineering will be crucial in driving innovation and improving product quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead product development of AHSS and API pipe & tube steel grades
- Perform mechanical property failure investigation and root cause analysis
- Analyze customer and industry material specifications for mill capability to meet dimensional, chemical, mechanical, and other characteristics
- Act as a technical liaison between the customer, sales, technical services, and the mill quality & mill operations for new business opportunities, existing business & production orders regarding product quality aspects
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Materials or Metallurgical Engineering or related field
- 3+ years' experience in research, operations, quality assurance, product development and/or manufacturing
- Demonstrated experience in application of Lean Six Sigma to improve product performance and reliability through process redesign
- Experience in Failure investigation and Root Cause Analysis in metallurgy or steel manufacturing environment
