Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Instrumentation Technician to join our team at Charlotte County, FL. As a key member of our Utilities department, you will be responsible for performing technical and skilled work in preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical, electronic, and pneumatic instrumentation and controls in wastewater and water treatment plants, and distribution and collection system facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical, electronic, and pneumatic instrumentation, and control systems at wastewater and water treatment plants, water distribution systems, pumping stations, chlorine injection stations, and potable water interconnection stations.
  • Test, calibrate, maintain, clean, and install instruments and related devices used in control systems and automated equipment for controlling and measuring flow, level, pressure, temperature, analytical instruments, etc.
  • Assist mechanics in the installation, maintenance, repair, and testing of electrical wiring systems, fixtures, motors, generators, transformers, and other electrical equipment for wastewater and water plants, pumping stations, and other utilities installations.
  • Maintain records relating to installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of instruments and control devices; prepare necessary records and reports; and prepare and interpret drawings, sketches, and schematics.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent supplemented by vocational or technical training in electronics, instrumentation, and controls.
  • Two (2) years of experience in the repair, inspection, adjustment, and calibration of electronic controls and instrumentation.
  • Or an equivalent combination of relevant training, education, and experience.

The position requires moderate exposure or risk to physical health and/or physical safety. The work environment typically requires moderate exposure to one or more disagreeable conditions, such as irate customers, outdoors weather conditions, excessive noise, extreme heat, odors, or dust.
