Job Title: Per Diem EMT/ER Technician

Penn State Health is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Per Diem EMT/ER Technician to join our team. As a Per Diem EMT/ER Technician, you will be responsible for providing emergency medical services to patients in need.

Job Summary:

The Per Diem EMT/ER Technician will be responsible for responding to emergencies, assessing patients, and providing treatment in accordance with PA DOH Basic Life Support standard curriculum. Additionally, you will be responsible for transporting patients according to established protocols and assisting Advance Life Support (Paramedic) providers with patient care management.

Responsibilities:
  • Respond to emergencies and assess patients
  • Provide treatment in accordance with PA DOH Basic Life Support standard curriculum
  • Transport patients according to established protocols
  • Assist Advance Life Support (Paramedic) providers with patient care management
  • Perform non-emergency routine medical transports utilizing ambulances and wheelchairs vans
  • Follow up with complete appropriate documentation
Requirements:
  • Basic life support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Program CPR/AED certified
  • Current certification as an EMT in the Commonwealth of PA or eligible for and completion of reciprocity if certified in another state
  • Valid Driver's license or eligible for a Commonwealth of PA driver's license if out of state
  • PA DOH EMSVO certification within 30 days of start date
  • HazMat Awareness Training and NIMS (100, 200, 700, 800) required within 30 days of start date
  • Must obtain Medical Command within 90 days of start date
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Six (6) months of Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) experience preferred
