About the Role:

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join our team as a Scientist/Chemist in Richland, WA. As a key member of our Fuel Business Unit, you will be responsible for performing analyses of products for chemical and mechanical properties, ensuring the safe generation of high-quality and reliable data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpreting and explaining results to internal and external customers.
  • Working in conjunction with analysts and technicians to ensure a seamless transition from raw sample to results.
  • Assisting with special projects requiring long-term testing or very specialized technical skill.
  • Problem-solving related to procedures or instrumentation to maximize efficiency and lifetime of equipment.
  • Preparing reagents, standards, and samples of various matrices to be analyzed on instrumentation.
  • Performing any of the responsibilities of the Laboratory Technician if such assistance is required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biological, Chemical, Physical, or Applied Science.
  • At least 4 years of experience in a related role.
  • Comprehensive knowledge in a particular field of specialization.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, technical, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer operations, Microsoft Excel macro development, and troubleshooting.
  • Laboratory experience.
  • Knowledge of at least three types of instrumentations, including ICP-MS, Gamma Energy Analysis, and Microwave sample digestion techniques.
