About the Role
We are seeking an Architectural Consultant to join our team at WSP. As an Architectural Consultant, you will be responsible for evaluating and rehabilitating existing commercial, industrial, and military buildings.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform field work to document the structure
- Develop construction documents and provide construction administration services
- Support a variety of architectural tasks to promote technical, social, and ethical skills
- Practice basic principles of Building Preservation and Building Enclosure Systems
- Perform on-site construction observations and provide support in completing multi-disciplinary on-site forensic investigations
- Review fenestration, vertical facade, roofing systems, and waterproofing
- Provide building enclosure commissioning and consulting services
- Assist project teams with completing building enclosure design reviews and assist with conducting functional performance testing of enclosure systems
- Prepare reports, design documents, and cost estimates
- Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation
Requirements
- Registered Architect in North Carolina and Florida
- Seven to ten years of relevant post-education experience in discipline with prior building preservation, enclosures, facade design, and sustainability experience
- Familiar with building materials and construction processes for design, construction, and/or repair of building enclosures, facades, waterproofing, cladding systems, roofs, parking structure, noise abatement, and the application to project work-related issues
- Familiar with codes, building planning, design, facade, and construction management involving commercial, industrial, and historic buildings; including renovation and new design projects
- Knowledge of third-party green building rating systems (LEED, Passive House, LBC, WELL, or related)
