We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at the Georgia Department of Public Health. As a Public Health LPN, you will play a vital role in providing assistance to public health clinics throughout the 12 counties within District 4 Public Health.
Key Responsibilities- Administer immunizations to patients of all ages, adhering to established guidelines and procedures.
- Perform annual school and daycare immunization audits, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Complete quarterly reports, providing valuable insights into public health trends.
- Assist with annual scoliosis screenings, promoting the health and well-being of our community.
- Participate in health fairs and educational programs, educating the public on important health topics.
- Perform TB screenings and administer PPD skin tests, both in-clinic and at outreach events.
- Prepare for and respond to public health emergencies, demonstrating your ability to adapt in high-pressure situations.
- Utilize computer technology to collect, store, and retrieve data, ensuring accurate and efficient record-keeping.
- Participate in program planning, contributing your expertise to the development of effective public health initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with diverse populations, using proper terminology and cultural proficiency.
- Adhere to the organization's policies and procedures, upholding the highest standards of professionalism.
- Engage in ongoing learning and professional development, staying up-to-date on the latest public health trends and best practices.
- PH Licensed Practical Nurse Level 1: Annual salary - $33,000
- PH Licensed Practical Nurse Level 2: Annual salary - $35,800
To be eligible for this role, you must possess a vocational/technical degree in licensed practical nursing from an accredited college, a current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse, CPR certification, and completion of all necessary orientation and training for Public Health LPN. For Level 2, two years of LPN public health experience are required.
