Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Energy Generation Operations Specialist to join our team at Orion Talent. In this role, you will be responsible for the remote monitoring and operation of our Solar Photovoltaic (PV) and Energy Storage assets.

About the Role

This is a dynamic position that requires strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. You will work closely with our operations team to ensure the safe and effective operation of our managed portfolio, including ancillary and Balance of Plant (BOP) equipment as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate company PV, Storage, and future Microgrid and Utility Scale generation assets in a manner that meets or exceeds all applicable local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure the safe and effective remote operation of company's managed portfolio through the detection of alarms, changes in parameters, outages, anomalies, and abnormal conditions.
  • Identify basic abnormal operations for undocumented situations and react appropriately to maintain safe and effective operation.
  • Supervise and lead a team of Distributed Generation Operators providing guidance and training on proper operating requirements, customer and utility interactions, and emergency response.
  • Optimize operations based on defined procedures to maximize revenues while satisfying all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, and to meet assigned Key Results and Key Performance Indicators.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in a generation control room.
  • Basic knowledge of the Bulk Electric System including AC electrical generation and high voltage transmission processes, with the ability to remotely troubleshoot plant equipment.
  • AC/DC experience.
  • Availability to work rotating shift work, 365 days a year, including weekends and holidays.
