Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental, Occupational Safety, and Health Specialist to support our team at the United States Marshals Service. This role will involve providing expertise in environmental and occupational health issues, including fire evacuation, asbestos, noise, lead, and bloodborne pathogens.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with USMS Environmental, Occupational Safety, and Health issues, including OSHA record keeping, hazard communication, internal inspections, materials handling, ergonomics, indoor air quality, and hearing conservation.
  • Develop policies, procedures, and reports related to environmental and occupational health.
  • Maintain spreadsheets and coordinate work activities as directed.
  • Participate in environmental data calls and disseminate information to USMS staff and management.
  • Coordinate with contracted consultants for lab testing, dosimetry testing, and other EOSH-related subject matter expertise.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in a safety or occupational health field or a related field with at least 24 semester hours of study in safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience relevant to the responsibilities listed above.
  • OSHA Level 30 certification is required.
  • Automated External Defibrillator and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Program (AED/CPR) certification is required.
  • Superior time management, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal employees and outside sources.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to change.
  • Ability to embrace new systems and process enhancements.
