Tissue Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Tissue Procurement Specialist to join our team at Live On Nebraska. This role involves coordinating and facilitating the surgical recovery of tissues, working closely with potential donor families, coroners, funeral homes, hospitals, and other internal departments.
About the Role:
This is a critical position that requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. As a Tissue Procurement Specialist, you will spend a significant amount of time performing tissue recovery, completing documentation, and coordinating the recovery process.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and facilitate the surgical recovery of tissues
- Gather and assess patient medical records and donor risk assessment to determine suitability
- Accurately complete the donor electronic record
- Communicate with potential donor families about the donation process
- Provide ethical and sensitive treatment to each donor
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree focused on anatomy (health sciences or nursing) preferred or equivalent training and experience required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Certified Tissue Banking Specialist Certification (CTBS)
- Able to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license and personal auto insurance
- Able to travel by vehicle
Compensation and Benefits:
The estimated salary for this position is around $55,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
