Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated CNA to join our team at Elderwood. As a CNA, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by providing support services and therapeutic programming.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living, including toileting, transferring, ambulation, eating assistance, and clothing change.
  2. Respond promptly to residents' needs and requests.
  3. Participate in therapeutic and social activities designed to enhance residents' physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.
  4. Assist with meal service and feeding assistance as needed.
  5. Provide mental stimulation for residents through activities and programs.
  6. Transport residents and encourage participation in social programming.
  7. Conduct informal programs on the neighborhoods as assigned.
  8. Offer input and assist in completing daily and monthly resident progress forms.
  9. Notify the Licensed Nurse of changes in residents' conditions or needs.

Qualifications:

  • Eighteen (18) years of age required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Registration in the State Nurse Aide Registry required.
  • Active on the State Nursing Aide Registry with no findings or convictions of resident abuse, mistreatment, and misappropriation of property.
  • Experience with dementia population desired.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Ability to verbally communicate well with residents, families, or agents, team members, and other departments.
  • Ability to read and understand task assignments and to report verbally and record care in writing.
  • Display of genuine concern for the elderly, a dependable, patient, and compassionate attitude towards residents.
