About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Equipment Design and Project Manager to join our team at James Hardie Building Products. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for leading capital projects from inception through startup, ensuring timely completion within budget and meeting quality standards.

This is a unique opportunity to leverage your technical expertise in mechanical equipment design, project planning, and execution to drive business growth and improve operational efficiency. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and operations, to develop project scope, schedule, and budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead capital projects from inception through startup, ensuring timely completion within budget and meeting quality standards.
  • Develop and manage project scope, schedule, and budget, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Conduct engineering reviews with consultants, vendors, and contractors, ensuring compliance with applicable construction codes.
  • Coordinate the creation and dissemination of major equipment specifications, working closely with procurement.
  • Engage procurement to define and manage vendor deliverables, reviewing and approving vendor invoices for payment.
  • Ensure equipment, valves, and instrumentation are procured based on specification and schedule, coordinating communication with key stakeholders.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • Bachelor of Science in Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5-7 years' experience in a project or design engineering role focused on mechanical equipment or equipment systems.
  • Experience in Industrial Manufacturing Environment preferred.
