We are currently seeking an experienced Lung Transplant Coordinator to join our team at the MGH Main Campus in Boston, MA.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of recent Intensive Care Unit and/or transplant experience, along with a Bachelor's degree in nursing or equivalent experience. A Master's degree in a clinical nursing specialty is preferred.
This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm, with a standard 40-hour workweek.
As a Lung Transplant Coordinator at Massachusetts General Hospital, you will be responsible for ensuring patients' continuity of care in all phases of lung transplantation. You will serve as the central point of reference for all information about patients participating in the program.
Your duties will include:
- Coordinate all aspects of the transplant process, including patient assessments, and pre or post-transplant care
- Understand pre and post-transplant protocols and act as a resource for internal and external health care providers
- Provide and maintain comprehensive documentation in patient medical records
- Participate in and support research activities within the Transplant Program and publish results
- Ensure compliance with Policy and Procedure for Data Submission to the OPTN
- Assist OPOs and other community organizations with educational presentations and information appropriate to the needs of transplant professionals and the public
