Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Caregiving Specialist to join our team at East Boston Neighborhood Health Center.

About the Role

This is a full-time position with a starting rate of $21 hourly. The successful candidate will provide personalized care and support to our participants, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet participants upon arrival and assist them in settling for the day
  • Assist with serving coffee, noon meal service, and cleanup as needed
  • Provide supervision and encouragement when required
  • Attend daily morning report and report participant concerns to relevant staff members
  • Prepare participants for departure in the afternoon by assisting with clothing and escorting to vans
  • Accompany participants on transportation as necessary to ensure safety
  • Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) per assignment and as needed, such as toileting assistance
  • Accompany participants to appointments as assigned
  • Carry out simple treatments under the direction of nursing staff, including catheter care and skin checks during personal care
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Nursing Assistant or Home Health Aide license
  • Valid CPR BLS certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
  • A minimum of one year experience working with the elderly or other frail populations
  • Care and respect for frail elders
  • Creativity and confidence in leading group activities
