Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at OU Health Physicians Tulsa, Surgical Specialty Clinic. As a key member of our nursing team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support in an outpatient setting.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for examination by having charts ready and collecting vital sign data.
  • Collect and record various readings, including heart and respiratory rate, blood pressure, weight, and body temperature.
  • Prepare samples for analysis or shipment and collect laboratory reports.
  • Make follow-up patient appointments and answer routine questions from patients and family members.
  • Administer medication to patients under the direction of a physician or other medical personnel.
  • Book operating rooms, order surgical supplies, and arrange for preoperative laboratory studies.
Requirements
  • Proficient nursing skills and typing skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work with a diverse group of faculty, staff, and patients.
  • Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
  • Must be able to follow patient safety and confidentiality guidelines.
Education and Licensure
  • High school diploma or equivalent and graduation from an approved Practical Nurse training program.
  • Valid Licensed Practical Nurse license issued by the State of Oklahoma or eligibility to obtain a license within 30 days of job interview.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in an outpatient medical environment and exposure to dependent upon assignment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds in the function of patient positioning and assistance.
