Job Title: Clinic Ultrasound Technologist

We are seeking a skilled Clinic Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for operating ultrasound equipment to perform general, vascular, and cardiac procedures/studies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Proficiently operate ultrasound equipment to perform general, vascular, and cardiac procedures/studies.
  • Accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings.
  • Review patient medical records to obtain necessary clinical information.
  • Position patients and select proper transducers and technical factors for accurate ultrasound procedures.
  • Ensure safety, mental, and physical comfort of patients.
  • Analyze sonograms, synthesize sonographic information, and communicate findings to physicians.
  • Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, or cost containment projects/initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with Abdomen issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS).
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with OB/GYN issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS).
  • Vascular Technologist (RVT) registration issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
  • Vascular Sonography (VS) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Vascular Specialist (RVS) registration issued by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Sonography.
  • Typically requires 2 years of experience in a Sonographer role.
Working Conditions:

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, and twist throughout the workday. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs from floor to waist, lift up to 20lbs over the head, and carry up to 40lbs a reasonable distance. Must be able to push/pull with 30lbs of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150lbs with a second person present.

May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards as well as blood and body fluids; therefore, personal protective equipment must be worn as necessary.
