Ultrasound Technologist PRN Job Summary
The Cardiovascular Sonographer is responsible for conducting a range of diagnostic echocardiograms, including standard, exercise-induced, pharmacological stress, and transesophageal echocardiograms.
This role requires a thorough understanding of human growth and development, along with the ability to assess and treat patients across varying age groups.
Additionally, the Sonographer performs clerical tasks related to cardiovascular procedures, upholds quality standards, and contributes to a patient-centered care environment.
This position will be based in the Cardiovascular Outpatient department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, and transesophageal echocardiograms.
- Demonstrate competency in Bubble Studies and the use of contrast agents.
- Maintain and clean testing equipment, ensuring proper functionality.
- Utilize the TD100 automated system for probe cleaning and documentation.
- Demonstrate proficiency with the digital acquisition and archival systems.
- Provide clear education to patients regarding the procedures.
- Perform bedside studies and assist with patient transport when necessary.
- Participate in the on-call schedule.
- Support the facility's Standards of Performance and ICARE values.
Requirements:
- Current registry in Adult Echo (RDMS, RDCS, or RCS), or Registry-Eligible with completion required within 12 months of hire.
- BLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
