We are recruiting a seasoned professional to join our team as a Senior Vice President/Vice President of Public Affairs and Corporate Communications.

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for shaping our public affairs and corporate communications strategy, encompassing media relations, patient advocacy, investor relations, and corporate brand narrative across internal and external stakeholders, channels, and platforms.

You will work closely with our leadership team to advance our mission to free patients from the siege of autoimmune disease.

The ideal candidate will contribute to our goals of navigating what's next in synthetic biology, immunology, and cell engineering while living our core values: bring intellectual humility, elevate each other, and stay true to why.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work directly with the CEO, CHRO, and Board on formulating and delivering our story to all stakeholders, internal and external.
  • Collaborate with functional partners, such as Finance, Regulatory, Clinical, Human Resources, and Legal to ensure communications are consistent and balanced with broad objectives.
  • Represent us with high-level external stakeholders as needed.
  • Manage external media and PR agencies to accelerate our capabilities and reach.
  • Play a strategic role in shaping the market as we chart new ground in advancing CAR T within Autoimmune and elevating our story and overall reputation.

Requirements

  • A proven track record of developing and executing innovative and impactful public affairs and corporate communications strategies that align with our vision, mission, and values.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to measure and evaluate the effectiveness of corporate communications initiatives.
  • Experience in managing complex and sensitive issues and crises, providing strategic counsel to senior leaders.
  • An enterprise perspective and experience sitting on and working with cross-functional leadership teams.
  • A proven ability to move with speed and agility, foresee potential issues, manage crises, and leverage opportunities to enhance our reputation and achieve our objectives.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence across all levels and functions of the organization.
  • A high degree of integrity, professionalism, and ethical judgment.
  • A proven track record of editing, scripts, draft written announcements, letters, video scripts, and briefing documents for CEOs of major publicly-traded healthcare enterprises or significantly-sized subsidiaries.
  • The ability to manage and interface effectively with CEO Staff level stakeholders and negotiate and synthesize messages to ensure our narrative is consistent.
  • Strong cross-functional and team leadership skills.
  • The ability to represent us well with high-level external stakeholders.
  • Strong partner management experience and the ability to assess, leverage, and manage external agencies and partners.
  • Deep knowledge of and effective ability to use corporate affairs channels of communications.
