Behavioral Health Specialist

ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education is seeking a highly skilled Board Certified Behavior Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will provide clinical and educational support to individual students, ensuring their academic and behavioral success.
Responsibilities:- Provide training and support to teachers and education support staff in the development of functional behavior assessments and behavior intervention plans.
- Monitor the quality of student academics and behavioral services.
- Assist ChanceLight staff in effective teaching practices to ensure students are progressing in accordance with their IEP.
- Assess the developmental needs of school staff, research, and design training programs based on those needs.
- Participate in staff development through conferences, training, and seminars to maintain and develop core competencies.
- Train, certify, and provide ongoing coaching and support to school employees in the practice and use of crisis management systems.
- Assist with the hiring, orientation, and training of behavior specialists.
- Research and make recommendations for the use of evidence-based curricula in classrooms that meet department of education requirements.
- Develop and monitor systems designed to meet the needs of individual students, classrooms, and the site as a whole.
- Attend and participate in all required meetings, including school team meetings and all staff meetings.
- Conduct regular quality assurance checks at the individual student, staff, classroom, and site level and make recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with department of education regulations and ChanceLight internal standards.
- Master's degree or higher in applied behavior analysis, special education, psychology, or a closely related field.
- Licensed as or have the ability to obtain a board certified behavior analyst (BCBA) credential.
- Licensed in or have the ability to obtain a special education credential preferred.
- Well-versed in applied behavior analysis, including positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS), effective teaching strategies, classroom management systems, data-based decision making, and functional analysis/behavior intervention plans.
- Highly skilled in working with individuals with severe learning, emotional behavioral disorders, autism spectrum disorders, and/or other related disabilities.
- Prior experience and/or knowledge in special education services and compliance, particularly for students with diverse needs at various levels.
- Proven success in developing and implementing effective treatment plans for students, preferably in a special education program setting.
- Proficiency in providing motivation and having critical conversations with students that help move them toward realistic goals.
- Ability to think and act quickly and calmly in an emergency and make independent decisions.
- Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem-solving, and decision-making ability.
- Knowledge of relevant technology, including experience with instructional technology, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry, and basic office equipment.
