Overview


Atrium Health is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to patients.



Job Summary:

This role requires the ability to perform all aspects of direct respiratory care according to physician's orders and/or approved protocols. You will consult with physicians on the effectiveness of therapy and make recommendations as needed.



Responsibilities:

  • You will provide appropriate ventilator support and maintain other cardiopulmonary life support equipment.
  • Maintain and properly utilize respiratory care equipment.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in various modes and methods of oxygen delivery and the equipment needed for each.
  • Administer therapeutic procedures, understanding the purpose and benefits, and possible effects associated with each.
  • Perform diagnostic procedures as outlined in policy.
  • Initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilators and non-invasive ventilators.
  • Evaluate current therapies using appropriate judgment and protocols, making proper recommendations concerning plans of care and patient education needs.
  • Document therapy and results as required by hospital, department, and regulatory agencies.
  • Communicate information to appropriate members of the healthcare team.
  • Work independently in all patient care areas and assist coworkers with patient care whenever possible.
  • FOLLOW departmental safety guidelines.
  • Complete all regulatory requirements.
  • Be proficient in the electronic medical records and its interface with the Respiratory Care Department.


Requirements:

We are looking for a Respiratory Therapist with an Associate's RRT or RRT equivalent degree from an AMA-approved school of Respiratory Care. A Bachelor's degree is preferred.


Credentials as a Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care are also required, along with licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the state of Georgia.
