Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Paralegal to support our Chief Legal and Administrative Officer and Legal Department on a variety of matters. The successful candidate will have a background in intellectual property, advertising, promotions, or entertainment law and will be responsible for reviewing and revising contracts, providing legal support for administering contests and sweepstakes, and providing ad hoc drafting and editing assistance.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Review and revise contracts and other legal documents submitted by internal stakeholders.
  2. Provide legal support for administering contests and sweepstakes, including drafting or revising official rules, winner affidavits, releases, and other fulfillment documents.
  3. Track the contract lifecycle from initial request to execution and maintain copies of executed contracts in a contracts repository.
  4. Monitor filing deadlines, review weekly trademark watch notices, and flag potential issues for review.
  5. Provide litigation support to in-house counsel, including discovery, litigation holds, and file maintenance, while communicating relevant information to key stakeholders.
Requirements
  • 15 years of experience in-house law department or law firm, with a background in intellectual property (trademark or copyright), advertising, promotions, or entertainment law.
  • Restaurant or retail experience preferred.
  • Experience in drafting and reviewing contracts.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities that may be constantly changing.
  • Self-driven, flexible, and highly energetic with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work effectively and efficiently both independently and collaboratively.
  • Microsoft Proficient: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, plus certificate of completion from ABA-approved paralegal education program, or an associate's degree in paralegal or legal studies.
