We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Technician to join our team on an evening shift. As a key member of our behavioral health department, you will play a vital role in providing direct and indirect care to patients under the supervision of a registered nurse.

About the Role:

Job Summary

This is a part-time position that requires two years' experience in a behavioral healthcare setting. As a Mental Health Technician, you will be responsible for implementing psychosocial interventions, assisting with basic activities of daily living, and participating in structured therapeutic activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implementing psychosocial interventions and helping patients with daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing, oral hygiene, ambulating, transferring, elimination needs, and therapeutic program participation.
  • Assisting in maintaining program function, including meal supervision and patient safety checks.
  • Conducting therapeutic interventions with patients exhibiting significant disturbances in emotional, cognitive, and physical behaviors.
  • Facilitating or co-facilitating therapeutic group process and interpreting patient behavior or physical symptoms to identify abnormal behaviors.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A high school education or equivalent.
  • An associate's or technical degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Two years' experience in a behavioral healthcare setting.

You should also hold certifications such as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI), and Management of Assaultive Behavior.
