FIRE SAFETY SALES SPECIALIST at Johnson Controls

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced sales professional to join our team as a Fire Safety Sales Specialist. In this challenging and rewarding role, you will be responsible for promoting and selling electronic fire service offerings to various customers within your assigned territory.

About the Role:
This is a field sales representative position responsible for selling electronic services (moves, adds, and changes) to assigned customer base (geography or account). You will manage the entire sales process, from uncovering opportunity, developing solution/value proposition, preparing design, creating contract, negotiating terms, closing opportunities, and providing ongoing customer service through service delivery.

You will work with other sales, technical, design engineering, service, support, and management teams to meet customer needs. As an Account Representative/Account Management specialist, you will assume responsibility for the provision and/or coordination of services (installation, customer training, etc.) to assure complete customer satisfaction.

Your key responsibilities will include:
• Quickly identifying and qualifying opportunities with excellent sales, presentation, and closing techniques
• Determining customer needs and developing a sales strategy to gain customer understanding of company product offerings
• Conducting building surveys to support the development of estimates
• Developing and maintaining an active proposal backlog that will support achieving the designated sales plan
• Developing financial justifications, preparing proposals, making presentations, and performing necessary follow-up for successful closing of the sales
• Closing sales to meet or exceed sales plan objectives
• Investigating and resolving customer problems in regard to delivery dates, billings, financing, and other related matters
• Maintaining established accounts through regular customer contact in pursuit of additional sales
• Performing periodic market investigations within the assigned territory to develop new applications; providing sales forecasting for assigned territory

Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you will need:
• Highly self-motivated and success-driven individual with high energy level and focus towards customers and strong desire to succeed
• High degree of self-discipline
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Good organizational skills, attention to detail, excellent communications skills, and ability to persuade and close sales required
• Ability to obtain appropriate licenses required by national, state, and local codes
• Strong knowledge of the fire alarm industry preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or Engineering preferred, or equivalent experience
• Experience working with electrical contractors, ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams desirable
• Computer experience including familiarity with Word, Excel, and job costing systems, Microsoft and Oracle programs preferred
