The Bureau of Legislative Research is seeking a skilled Temporary Legislative Proofreader to join their team in Little Rock, AR. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work on-site in the Statutory Review Section during the regular session of the General Assembly.

Typical Functions:

  • Assist in reviewing bills, amendments, and acts of the General Assembly
  • Perform technical edits as assigned
  • Collaborate with reviewing attorneys, editors, and administrative staff

Special Job Dimensions:

  • Periodic work outside of normal office hours may be required
  • A background check must be passed

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in English, journalism, communication, or a related field is required
  • Related work experience in publication or editing plus an associate's degree may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree
  • Excellent knowledge of grammar and punctuation rules is essential
  • Ability to function effectively as part of a team in a deadline-driven environment

  • Estimated salary range: $39,520.00 - $51,686.00 per year
