Job Description

This position involves providing all aspects of general adult cardiac surgery, including coronary artery bypass, aortic and mitral valve repair/replacement, and aortic surgery. The successful candidate will also be expected to educate future leaders in cardiac surgery and contribute to research initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform complex cardiac surgeries, including heart transplants, robotic valve surgery, and aortic surgeries
  • Collaborate with other medical professionals to provide comprehensive patient care
  • Contribute to research initiatives and educate future leaders in cardiac surgery
Requirements and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • MD or DO degree with board certification or eligibility in Thoracic Surgery
  • Eligibility for a South Carolina Medical License
  • Academic orientation, interest in teaching, and passion for outreach
  • Preference for applicants with a demonstrated ability to design and carry out clinical or basic science research
