Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist PRN to join our team. Key responsibilities include:

  • Obtaining high-quality MRI images of patients
  • Demonstrating competence in following established scanning protocols and adjusting them as required
  • Complying with MRI safety guidelines for patients and self, utilizing protective equipment when necessary
  • Operating the MRI scanner safely and competently
  • Ensuring patient safety by screening for contraindications, such as cardiac pacemakers, sheet metal fragments, shrapnel, jewelry, wallets, metal prostheses, etc.
  • Rendereing patient care in a professional and courteous manner
  • Preparing examination rooms for MRI procedures, monitoring inventory of supplies during room rotation, and maintaining room cleanliness and neat appearance
  • Proficiently obtaining IV access and administering contrast agents
  • Reviewing each exam for technical accuracy and completing verification process in PACS
  • Assisting the PACS Administrator and MRI Supervisor with PACS clean up, including unarchived images, unspecified, etc.
  • Completing and maintaining educational requirements
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality regarding employees and patient information according to Policy and Procedure

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Graduation from an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology
  • Continuing education credits as mandated by the ARRT for licensure
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) certification within six months of hire
  • Current CPR certification
  • Minimum one year experience as a certified MRI technologist

Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,000 per year

This salary range is estimated based on national averages for MRI Technologists in the Richmond, Virginia area.
