Accounts Payable Lead Job Description

At BR+A Consulting Engineers, we are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Lead to join our growing accounting team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including invoice processing, coding, and approval routing.
  • Monitor and organize accounts payable email inbox.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices.
  • Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date and follow up on outstanding invoices.
  • Update and maintain accurate vendor records, including W-9s and certificates of insurance.
  • Collaborate with the team to support month-end and year-end closing processes, including monthly sales tax compliance and yearly 1099 preparation.
  • Prepare and process weekly check run.
  • Prepare and maintain sub consultant contracts.
  • Provide support and back up other accounting team staff.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in accounts payable or similar role.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong work ethic, integrity, and reliability.
  • Ability to work independently and work well in a team environment.
  • Willingness to assume additional responsibility and learn new skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software as well as other accounting ERP systems.
