Human Resources Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Specialist to join our team at Synerfac. As the HR and Payroll Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing all HR functions and providing support to all employees.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about payroll management, conflict resolution, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.
The ideal candidate will have experience with union agreements and rules, prevailing wage jobs, certified payroll, and union reports. They will also have a strong understanding of HR and wage laws and requirements.
The HR and Payroll Manager will be responsible for preparing and processing weekly payroll for multiple companies, union and nonunion employees. They will also process and submit all project-related certified payroll reports, EEO, DBE/SBE, LCPTRACKER, and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be proficient in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel, and have a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing and processing weekly payroll for multiple companies, union and nonunion employees
- Processing and submitting all project-related certified payroll reports, EEO, DBE/SBE, LCPTRACKER
- Maintaining current knowledge of federal, state, and local tax, wage, and hour laws
- Overseeing the full cycle of talent acquisition, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding new employees
- Providing guidance and support to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices
- Maintaining accurate employee records and ensuring data integrity in HR systems
- Assisting with the development and implementation of HR programs and initiatives
- Ensuring workplace safety by promoting OSHA guidelines and conducting regular safety training
- Managing company benefits, recruitment, and Employee Policy manual

Requirements include:
- Experience with union agreements and rules

- Capable of working with minimal supervision
- Ability to maintain confidentiality while safeguarding sensitive employee and compensation information
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field
- Indepth knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and best practices
- Familiarity with employment laws such as FMLA, OSHA, etc.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex employee relations issues
