At Central Coast Community Energy, we're seeking an experienced Strategic Energy Operations Lead to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in driving the implementation of our vision and strategy.

Central Coast Community Energy is a Community Choice Aggregation agency established by local communities to source clean and renewable electricity for customers in Monterey, San Benito, Santa Cruz, San Luis Obispo, and Santa Barbara counties. Our board of directors represents local city and county governments throughout the Central Coast.

Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the role of Strategic Energy Operations Lead. This position will be responsible for providing complex and highly responsible administrative support to the CEO, performing varied professional level administrative and research work connected with the management and improvement of agency operations, planning, coordinating, and participating in various program and administrative operations and activities having a agency-wide impact, and performing related work as required.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing complex projects and driving strategic initiatives, strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize data into actionable insights, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing at all levels of the organization, a strong understanding of energy policies, regulations, and market trends, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

In this role, you will serve as a liaison for the department in its contacts with other agency departments, agencies, representatives, and private vendors, make written or oral presentations of recommendations to the department director or other management staff for review, prepare extensive administrative analyses, studies, and research projects, monitor departmental budget expenditures, prepare charts, tables, and graphs for presentation of data, and perform other related duties that may be reasonably expected as part of this classification.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business, accounting, public administration, or a related field depending on the area of assignment.
  • Five years of professional experience in public or business administration, public affairs, or a related field with at least two years in a leadership or Chief of Staff role.
  • Possession of or the ability to obtain a valid California Class C Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
