Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Family Therapist to join our team in the Extended Day Treatment Program. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring treatment for assigned children and their families.

Klingberg Comprehensive Program Services Inc is a private non-profit multi-service agency that provides help to thousands of people across Connecticut each year. Our goal is to extend hope and healing to children and families who have been traumatized by abuse and/or neglect in its various forms, severe family problems, and mental health issues.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $70,000 - $80,000, depending on experience. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, 401(k) plus a match, 13 paid holidays, three weeks' vacation to start (four weeks after two years), parental leave, employee assistance program, and a referral program.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct clinical preplacement interviews to determine appropriateness for the program
  • Complete psychosocial assessments and initial treatment plans, including diagnoses within timeframes described in agency policy/procedure
  • Formulate master treatment plans in conjunction with the treatment team within timeframes described in agency policy/procedure
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy to assigned cases as clinically indicated
  • Schedule and lead weekly treatment team meetings
  • Make referrals to and collaborate with psychiatric, psychological, medical, and legal professionals as needed
  • Write progress notes for units of service delivered daily to children in attendance
  • Conduct treatment reviews, within timeframes described in agency policy/procedure, for each client, evaluating progress on existing objectives and revising master treatment plans as indicated
  • Provide crisis intervention services to clients and crisis consultation to staff and education personnel as needed
  • Work collaboratively with DCF and other legal/social service agencies involved with the client and family
Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must have a Master's degree in a related field, current certification/licenses, and 2-4 years supervised experience in a therapeutic treatment setting. Bilingualism in Spanish is a plus. You must also maintain certification in TCI and CPR/First Aid and have a valid driver's license.
